Brazil 2019/20 Coffee Survey

Our annual Brazil coffee crop survey indicates a 2019/20 crop of 57.6m bags, signifying the largest-ever downcycle for arabica and a record conilon crop – and with a surprising lack of diseases or pests in most of the coffee areas.

We reviewed our methodology for the 2018/19 crop and conclude that the arabica area and productivity must be larger than originally expected, especially in Cerrado. Meanwhile, new promising innovations coming to the market could significantly reduce the cost of production.
