Coffee Outlook Q3 2021: Iced and Hard-to-Get

The worst frost in two decades hit the heart of the Brazil arabica coffee belt on July 20. This was just one out of three frost events so far this season (or fourth depending on how you count) and adds to concerns about the ongoing dry weather pattern. At the same time, container shipping disruptions continue globally, and affect more origins, including Brazil.

Q2 2022 disappearance into non-producing countries globally came in 0.8% higher YOY, which points to a slight recovery in demand from the lockdown-affected numbers of Q1 2022.

Higher coffee prices will affect different segments of the coffee industry differently, but for now we don’t see large increases in official prices.
