About a third of all food produced globally ends up lost. Proper packaging can play a significant role in reducing food waste, cutting down losses during transportation and storage. In our food packaging infographic, we illustrate the benefits of proper packaging using the tomato as an example. An unpackaged tomato has a shelf life of about a week, while canned tomatoes can be stored for years.
