The Changing M&A Landscape of European Paper Recycling
Analysis of the European paper recycling industry reveals an increased level of M&A activity, especially in terms of increased deal value. The majority of deals were done by multi-material recycling companies, but private equity and other investors have also emerged as a driving force for M&A in this sector.
“We believe that larger recycling (waste) companies will continue strengthening their regional and international positions while expanding their range of services. And, paper recycling will remain part of their M&A activities. As for smaller companies involved in paper recycling only, we expect them to grow mainly through horizontal integration,” according to Natasha Valeeva, Senior Analyst – F&A Supply Chains.
