Brazilian G&O Monthly Update – March 2019

Our latest progress report for Brazilian G&O, detailing farmgate prices, amounts sold, exports and crush margins for corn & soybeans, as well as regional weather developments.

- Brazilian soybean farmgate price 1% up MOM and 1% up YOY
- Brazilian corn farmgate price 5% up MOM and 18% up YOY
- 2019 second-crop corn sold 6pp up MOM and 15pp up YOY (Mato Grosso)
- Brazilian soybean exports reached 8.2m metric tons in 2019 (Jan-Feb), 86% higher than the volume exported in this same period of 2018 and a record amount for this period of the year
- Brazil exported 6m metric tons of corn in 2019 (Jan-Feb), 40% more than in the same period in 2018
- Given the early soybean harvest and the normal rainfall volumes in February 2019, second-crop corn conditions based on weather evaluation are at levels above the five-year average in most of the producing regions
