Brazilian G&O Monthly Update – December 2021

Our latest report for Brazilian G&O, detailing farmgate prices, amounts sold, exports, and crush margins for corn & soybeans, as well as regional weather developments.

Highlights

• Brazilian soybean farmgate prices are down 0.5% MOM in December. On a yearly basis, prices are 9% above December 2020.

• Brazilian corn farmgate prices in November are 1.7% below the previous month. Although, on a yearly basis, prices are 26% above last December

• Brazilian corn exports reached 2.4m metric tons in November 2021, 2.5m metric tons below November 2020. Total accumulated exports are 17m metric tons, 12.8m metric tons below 2020.

• Brazilian soy exports decreased 21% in November 2021, to 2.6m metric tons. Total accumulated exports since January are 83.4m metric tons, 0.5m metric tons above 2020 levels.

• Rainfall levels will result in good soybean yields in most central and northern regions. Rainfall was below average in the South region, and crop conditions there are below expected. Overall, the 2021/22 soybean crop has benefited from the weather.
