Brazilian G&O Monthly Update – November 2022

Our latest report for Brazilian G&O, detailing farmgate prices, amounts sold, exports, and crush margins for corn & soybeans, as well as regional weather developments.

Highlights

- In November, Brazilian soybean farmgate prices increased 1.3% compared to the previous month. An increase in soybean exports supported prices in the interior.

- In November, the corn farmgate price is down 1.0% versus the previous month.

- In October 2022, Brazilian soy exports reached 4.1m metric tons, similar to September 2022 volumes. A smaller-than-expected US crop and challenging logistics aided demand for Brazilian soy.

- Accumulated Brazilian corn exports through October are 31.5m metric tons, 116% above the previous year. A record ‘safrinha’ corn supply and disruption of the global corn trade will result in Brazilian exports reaching 42m metric tons in 2022.

- In Brazil, weather has allowed soybean planting to advance at a good pace, despite low volumes of rain in a few regions. Soybean planting reached 97% in Mato Grosso and 93% in Mato Grosso do Sul.
